The Sacrament of Baptism is the sacrament by which one becomes a Christian. The origin of the word is from the Greek "baptein," to dip or immerse. Information regarding preparation for the reception of this sacrament may be obtained by contacting the parish office.
Baptisms are celebrated one Sunday afternoon per month at 1:00 p.m.
Call the office at 651-463-3360 for dates.
Eucharist
The Eucharist, from the Greek verb "to give thanks," is the sacramental celebration of the Paschal Mystery [of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ]. This celebration prepares us to receive the Body and Blood of Christ as well as strengthens us to go beyond the church walls and be Christ's hands and feet in the world. Preparation for the reception of this sacrament may be obtained by contacting the Faith Formation Staff.
Reconciliation
Individual: Saturday 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. in the Reconciliation Chapel
The Sacrament of Reconciliation provides us with a ritual means to recognize our sinful nature and to become reconciled with God and with the church. Preparation for the reception of this sacrament may be obtained from the Faith Formation Staff. Our community celebrates individual reconciliation each Saturday between 3:30 p.m. & 4:00 p.m.
Confirmation
The Sacrament of confirmation is the second moment in the process of Christian Initiation. It is really the second anointing of the baptismal rite administered by a bishop. Confirmation can either be celebrated in connection with baptism or at another point in life. At St. Michael's, the sacrament is most often celebrated during the high school years. Preparation for the reception of this sacrament may be obtained from the Faith Formation Staff.
Anointing of the Sick
This sacrament is intended to strengthen those who are in need of physical, spiritual, or emotional healing and those near death. The anointing of the sick may be celebrated as needed individually and is also celebrated within the weekend liturgy.
Marriage
Marriage has been considered a sacrament since the 13th century. It is a "covenant' made between a man and woman where the couple intends that Jesus' message will be the guiding factor of their life together. We, the community, in turn commit ourselves to supporting the couple.
Your wedding needs to be scheduled with the Parish Office at least six
months prior to the celebration date so all necessary preparations for the sacrament can be completed. Please come to the Parish Office to
pick up St. Michael’s Wedding Guide.
